New Gel Peels

The GL peel
Combined glycolic and lactic acid work synergistically to exfoliate the skin, while reducing irritation and dryness. Because of glycolic acid’s molecular structure, it penetrates quicker and deeper than other AHAs (alpha hydroxyacids) to perform at all levels of the skin. Lactic acid is an effective yet gentle AHAs that increases moisture levels by stimulating the production of glycosaminoglycans. By accelerating the cell renewal process, stimulating collagen synthesis, and improving elastin fibres in the dermis, this light chemical peel revitalizes photo damaged skin and helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The peel is appropriate for serial applications and as a companion treatment for microdermabrasion or IPL. This product is for professional use only.
The SM peel
Combined, salicylic and mandelic acid work synergistically to exfoliate the skin while decongesting pores and reducing irritation. Although one of the strongest AHAs, mandelic acid’s large molecular structure and even penetration help prevent inflammation and irritation that can sometimes occur with AHA use. Salicylic acid is a lipid soluble BHA that penetrates pores to dissolve sebum and cellular debris. By accelerating the cell renewal process, stimulating collagen synthesis, and improving elastin fibres in the dermis, this light chemical peel revitalizes sensitive skin and helps improve the appearance of problematic skin. The peel is appropriate for serial applications and as a companion treatment for microdermabrasion

Restylane fillers now contain a local anaesthetic similar to that which is used for the dental block. This means that the treatment will be much more comfortable.
As you are aware Dr Jilani has been using dental blocks anaesthetic for the lips and nose to mouth lines, which has been very beneficial to clients. However with anaesthetic in all the Restylane syringes, means that all the treatments are going to be very easy to tolerate.

Party's over for Botox
PATIENTS undergoing Botox treatments must be checked by a doctor from today under guidelines designed to target "cowboys".
New General Medical Council rules mean doctors must vet everyone who wants the anti-ageing treatment.
They also ban "Botox parties", and prevent GPs giving nurses or beauticians the right to administer the injection to anyone they choose.
Consumer groups have highlighted problems with untrained people injecting the substance at beauty events.
Watchdog Which? has warned about Botox parties being advertised over the internet. In one case, a former nurse was found to be organising parties on eBay and injecting clients who were drunk.
Botox injections cost at least £250 and are used to soften frown lines and paralyse muscles which cause wrinkles.
Actress Melanie Griffith, 51, and British star Amanda Holden, 37, have used the treatment, while 49-year-old X Factor judge Simon Cowell said "pretty much everyone" he knows has had Botox. Demi Moore 46, is widely reported as having the injections, while Dannii Minogue, 37, has admitted using the treatment but now plans to stop.
Botox is a prescription drug which can only be issued by a doctor. But anyone can inject it. Experts have called for it to be administered under the supervision of a GP.
Previously, doctors could prescribe the drug without seeing patients, it could be injected by non-medics and patients did not even have to be named.
Michael Keegan, an adviser in the GMC's policy and ethics team, said: "From now on, doctors must assess the patient receiving the Botox. They can't just make a blanket direction."
The Independent Healthcare Advisory Service said it was "thrilled" by the GMC action. Director Sally Tabor said: "This means patients will be treated by appropriately trained doctors."

Half of suncreams 'lack protection'
Fewer than half of suncreams on the market offer complete protection against the sun, new research has claimed.
A study by Mintel Global New Products Database (GNPD) showed that not all suncreams sold in Europe safeguarded against both UVA and UVB rays.
Most suncreams will provide UVB protection as UVB rays cause the skin to burn, but many lack defence against UVA rays that penetrate deeper into the skin and cause it to age prematurely and, in extreme cases, can cause skin cell mutation.
The research showed that of the two sunscreen products launched daily across Europe, meaning more than 750 per year, less than half supplied dual protection against UVA and UVB.
Alexandra Richmond, senior beauty analyst at Mintel, said: "For a sunscreen to be as effective as possible, it should really protect against both UVB and UVA rays.
"What many people may not realise is that if they just have UVB protection, they are less likely to burn but they have no protection against the harmful and ageing effects of UVA rays."
It seems that Britons may be becoming more interested in getting out of the sun and into indoor self-tanning as the research also showed that Britain is the top spot for tanning products.
Last year 60 self-tanners or fake tan products launched in the UK alone, and 300 launched over the whole of Europe.
Nina Goad of the British Association of Dermatologists urged people to carefully consider the type of suncream they buy. She said: "Many people look for an SPF in their sunscreen, thinking that this offers them full protection against UV damage. In fact, the SPF only shows protection against UVB, which is the type of UV that causes sunburn and skin cancer.
"It's UVA that causes sun-induced skin ageing and also contributes towards skin cancer, but the SPF does not show protection against UVA. You need to look for specific UVA filters, indicated in the UK by stars or a circular UVA symbol."
