SCLEROTHERAPY
Thread Vein Treatment - Sclerotherapy
Thread veins are the common name given for unsightly
purple/red
superficial veins under the surface of the skin, usually on
the legs or the face. Thread veins can be caused by sun-damage,
hormonal changes, pregnancy, physical trauma or genetic factors.
Thread Veins
Thousands of people who have suffered from thread veins caused
by broken blood vessels, have been treated successfully with
Sclerotherapy, which gives excellent results.
Treatment involves injecting a solution very superficially
into the thread veins with a fine needle. This causes the
vein to shrink and make them less visible. An anaesthetic
cream is applied prior to injection to keep discomfort to
the minimum. Each treatment will narrow the vein further until
they close down completely and disappear within a few weeks.
Usually more than one treatment may be required. The treatment
takes around 20-30 minutes You will be able to discuss the
treatment in detail with the doctor at your initial consultation.
