How does the Titan work?
Titan™ utilizes a safe, infrared light to heat the dermis well below the skin’s surface. This heating can cause immediate collagen contraction. During the procedure, the skin’s surface (epidermis) is protected through continuous cooling with the Titan™ hand piece. After the procedure, new collagen growth results in further tightening and the development of a more youthful, complexion with less lines, folds or looseness of the skin.
The Titan technology cools the skin during treatments therefore sensitivities such as rosacea or herpes are not irritated. The Titan treatments tend to benefit a wide range of patients and can be used with sensitive skin conditions.

Infrared heat penetrates to the dermis where sufficient heat provides immediate collagen contraction giving the treated area tighter, firmer skin.

What areas respond best to the Titan procedure?
Patients have been successfully treated on many areas of the body where skin is lax. Loose skin along the jaw line (jowls),under the chin, the abdomen and upper arm have responded particularly well to the procedure.
Who can be treated?
Since the Titan procedure is heating tissue under the skin’s surface, patients of any skin type can be treated. Men and women of all ages have been successfully treated.

How many treatments will I need?
Two treatments approximately four weeks apart are recommended for maximum effect. You will be advised as to the number and frequency of treatments recommended for optimal results.
What happens at the treatment appointment?
The Aesthetician will explain to you how the Titan technology works, and she will take a before photograph of you. You will then be asked about what improvements you would like, and the expectations will be discussed. The Aesthetician will mark the area to be treated with a white eyeliner pencil.
You will then lie down and relax, and will wear goggles to protect your eyes from the infra- red light. A cooling gel will be applied to the skin, and the Aesthetician with work on the area by using a hand piece. Halfway through the treatment, you will have the opportunity to see half of the area treated, so you can compare it with the untreated area.
Once the treatment session is complete, the gel will be wiped off and the skin cleansed, before applying a moisturiser and sunscreen. The treatment takes about an hour
Does it hurt?
No Titan is a comfortable treatment. You should feel some heat but it is not unpleasant. You will be asked throughout the treatment how you are feeling, to make sure you are not in any discomfort.
What happens after the treatment? Are there any side effects?
Immediately following the treatment, you may notice some redness and mild swelling in the treated area. Both should disappear within a few hours. You would be given after care advise before you leave.
When will I see results?
Some patients see results immediately. However, for most patients, the results are gradual over a three to four month period, as new collagen is formed and the skin tightens.
Will I look like I have had a surgical face-lift?
No. Titan results are more subtle, and give a more natural fac- lift. The advantage is that although surgery lifts the skin, it does not plump out the skin. Titan stimulates collagen production, which makes your skin look plumper and younger, and gives a gentle lift especially around the jowls and brows.
People look fresh and well rested, and are often complimented on their skin.
How long do the results last?
The desired results last approximately 12 to 16 months. A maintenance treatment is required once a year.
Is there an age limit for those who can have Titan?
No it is never too late to make improvements.
Can post pregnancy tummies be treated?
Yes with excellent results. Combined with Dermaroller which treats stretch marks, it is very effective in restoring the skin in this area.
